Jorge Iván Ramírez

A native of Medellín, Colombia, Jorge Iván Ramírez has a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and has specializations in marketing from the EAFIT University of Medellín and advanced marketing from the University of California at Berkeley. Likewise, he actively participates in the Wharton Fellows program at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.
In more than 35 years of experience in the technology and communications industries, stands out his performance as President and Chief Executive Officer of Verizon Dominicana and Executive VP of Verizon International ; President of Diveo de Colombia y Panamá, a telecommunications company, specialized in broadband wireless connectivity and data centers; as well as his performance representing the North American company AT&T as Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Operations at Celumovil SA, a cell phone company in Colombia.
In Colombia he has been a member of the following boards of directors: Medisalud, Finca SA, Caracol Radio, Cromos Magazine, ANDA (National Association of Advertisers), CCIT (Colombian Chamber of Informatics and Telecommunications) and President of the Board of Directors of Axede de Colombia. Likewise, in the Dominican Republic he has been President of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), the Association of Foreign Investment Companies (ASIEX), the Board of Directors of Verizon International Teleservices, a member of the Boards of Directors of the National Council of Private Companies (CONEP) and the Santo Domingo Cyber Park. At present, he continues to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Central de Valores de la República Dominicana (Cevaldom).
Within the framework of his residence in the Dominican Republic and as President of Verizon, Jorge was awarded the highest distinction to a foreign businessman, "La Orden De Los Libertadores", by the official government, highlighting his contribution to the development of technology, competitiveness and education in the country.
